Case bomb letter to mayor Heerlen dismissed (Crimewatcher.nl)
MAASTRICHT Justice in Limburg has dismissed the case against Eric L. (45), who was suspected of sending a letter bomb to Heerlen Mayor Ralf Krewinkel late last year, due to lack of evidence. This is according to a letter from the prosecution, in Crimewatcher's possession.
L. spent a few days in jail, but was then released. In mid-December, a suspicious package containing a threatening letter and the explosive TNT was delivered to the town hall in Heerlen. In it, one million euros was demanded. The Explosives Clearing Service (EOD) decided to have the city hall evacuated in the evening.
A day later, 45-year-old Eric L. was taken from his bed in Hulsberg. He has always denied any involvement in the threats made against Krewinkel.
