Of the nine MVV supporters on trial Thursday for rioting in Breda, one has been acquitted on grounds of self-defense.
The other eight received community service sentences ranging from 15 to 60 hours. The officer had demanded community service sentences of 80 to 120 hours and a stadium ban for all and a one-month suspended jail sentence.
The riots were last August. Then MVV played a practice match against NAC Breda. The nine supporters were part of a larger group involved in the disturbances in Breda. Other fans already accepted a settlement proposal from the justice system last year.
These 9 did not.
