Images of the four terror suspects arrested in Weert in 2018 on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack were shown in the extra-security court in Rotterdam on Friday.
Footage shows terror suspects holding automatic weapons and pistols in a vacation home in Weert, aiming with them and pulling the triggers. A man is also shown wearing a vest with wires.
Suspects arrested in van
The court also showed how eventually four of the six terror suspects were picked up in Weert by the arrest team. The other two were picked up in Arnhem.
The foursome were in a rental van, in which the police had mounted a camera. This shows how the suspects still want to draw their weapons, but are eventually overpowered by the police.
Gay Pride, army base and nightclub
The prosecution said that after the suspects' arrest in September 2018, "a major attack in the Netherlands was prevented. On Friday, the judge read a statement from a police informant. That person allegedly heard that Gay Pride was targeted in 2018 and that there were plans to attack an army base and nightclub.
The weapons they planned to use to carry out those attacks were given to them by undercover agents in September.
