Video: Victim rushed to hospital after shooting in driveway (Limburger.nl)
A shooting took place in a driveway at a house in Sittard Sunday evening.
One victim was rushed to Maastricht University Hospital with facial injuries.
Officers arrested a suspect for the shooting on Aan het Broek, which occurred around quarter past seven. The shooting occurred in the suspect's driveway. A firearm was found in the suspect's residence. It is believed to be the weapon used to fire.
Conflict
Part of the street Aan het Broek was closed due to forensic investigations. There were many bystanders at the cordon. Neighbors reported that the resident allegedly shot at a man who had come to seek redress for an argument with a weapon.
This allegedly played out between his granddaughter and the resident's daughter, who was detained. The police would not confirm this reading, but they did say that the cause of the conflict was probably relational. The victim was found a little further down Westland Street with a gunshot wound to the face.https://www.limburger.nl/cnt/dmf20190414_00101112/schietpartij-in-sittard
