The substantive hearing of the trial of three suspects in the murder of Sven Prins from Brunssum will begin Monday.
Four days have been set aside for the case, spread over two weeks. On Thursday, Dec. 7, the prosecutor's office will issue a sentence.
Liquidation
Sven Prins was shot at during a chase through Brunssum two years ago. Once out of the car, he was shot just across the municipal border in Heerlen. The Brunssumer was an acquaintance of the police from the drug scene.
Undercover agent
The police made every effort to apprehend the suspects in the liquidation. An undercover agent was used for this purpose. The agent infiltrated a company whose activities included drug and weapons trafficking.
Diverted
Sergio K. (27), Jurandy T. (31) and Xionel B. (39) confessed to the officer that they had killed Prince. There was allegedly a payoff because one of the suspects had a conflict with him.
False statement
Several weeks ago, the case created a stir. A Belgian woman came forward with a false tip in order to pocket tip money. Later she reported by phone that it was a bluff. The substantive hearing starts Monday at 09:00 am. L1 reporter Nils Rompen is following the case on Twitter.
