Suspect of earlier Blerick shooting at large (Limburger.nl)

The 44-year-old Venlon man involved in a shooting in Blerick on Friday, Oct. 20, was released Thursday.
According to the Public Prosecutor's Office (OM), there would currently be too little evidence against him that he was one of the shooters. So says his lawyer Serge Weening to the De Limburger.

A spokesman for the prosecution could not yet confirm the release Thursday night because "the dispositions had not yet been received."

Gunshot wounds

The man who holds a Vietnamese passport was one of two suspects arrested by police after shots were fired at a storefront on the corner of Antoniuslaan and Sint Willebrordstraat in Blerick. Both men were hospitalized with gunshot wounds

Satudarah

The assailant of "the Vietnamese" is said to be Eric H. (50) from Venlo. He came into the news earlier this year after a raid on two of his premises on Bevrijdingsweg in Venlo. There, members of the Satudarah motorcycle club would meet regularly. H.remains in prison for the time being because of the recent shooting.

With the 44-year-old man unlikely to have used a weapon, the question arises as to who did fire the shots that wounded Eric H. two weeks ago. Several more people were reportedly on the premises that night.
