The man's pre-trial detention was extended for 90 days, the judge ruled.

On Jan. 12, things went wrong at the day and night shelter on the Statensingel in Maastricht. Two men staying there entered at the same time. One of them suddenly stabbed the other in the neck and fled.
Stained
The suspect, who was walking around with blood-stained pants, was able to be apprehended nearby. Since then, he has been in jail.
