Thijs H. is appealing his conviction for three murders. This is reported by his lawyer Serge Weening. The court in Maastricht sentenced the 28-year-old man to 18 years in prison and tbs with coercive measures.

According to Weening, H. was wrongly convicted of murder. "The Pieter Baan Center concluded after extensive and careful investigation that he acted entirely under the influence of a severe psychosis. Thijs H. was completely insane."

Weening believes "that the court's ruling does not do justice to the circumstances under which Thijs came to his actions."
