Suspects (72 and 73) acquitted of involvement in murder of parcel delivery driver (23) (Telegraaf.co.uk)

Two elderly men suspected of involvement in the death of 23-year-old package delivery man Anas Hajji Abdulsalam in Amsterdam have been acquitted by the court. Just two weeks ago, the prosecution demanded a prison sentence of 18 years against 73-year-old Zeev J. and 14 years against 72-year-old Lech T.

The victim was found dead in his van in Amsterdam North on April 12, 2021. Investigations revealed that he had been intensively observed by the two elderly people for four months prior to his death.

Unlike the prosecution, the court finds that this does not yet establish that the men knew the victim would be killed. Zeev K. saw the package delivery man shot dead before his eyes during his last observation. The court believes his claim that he did not know that was about to happen.
