Suspected Limburg soldier released again (Crimewatcher.co.uk)

MAASTRICHT The 21-year-old soldier from Sittard, who was in prison on suspicion of staging a robbery at a supermarket in Born together with an eighteen-year-old cashier, has been released again. This is confirmed by his lawyer Francoise Landerloo. The duo was arrested Wednesday, April 19.

"The examining magistrate in Arnhem did still see serious concerns, but there were no more grounds to detain him any longer," Landerloo said. Among other things, the soldier is also still suspected of vandalism. The suspected woman from Born was not brought before the examining magistrate.

The case came to light due to information that had come in to the police's Criminal Intelligence Team. The alleged robbery was allegedly committed on December 30, 2016. The soldier walked into the supermarket on the Kerkstraat in Born around 3 p.m. and went straight for the cash register of woman.

He shouted that it was a robbery, whereupon she gave him a sum of money. At the soldier's home, three indistinguishable gas guns were found. The investigation by the investigators in this case is still ongoing.
