SITTARD - The Sittard suspects of two murders were allegedly threatened by the relatives of one of their victims. Hub L. and his daughter Rachelle went on the run for that reason.
This is according to statements made by suspects and acquaintances in this murder case. The angry family of the Iraqi Mouhammed al Jader ("Mo") is said to be bent on revenge. This would be evident, among other things, from the fact that at the home of the L. family in Tudderen, just across the border from Sittard, windows were smashed, a door kicked in and the cables of a security camera cut. A witness stated that Hub L. had told him that "Mo's family had almost caught him and that he would flee. When asked if the lives of the fugitives are feared, a spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office (OM) would not comment. "This will in all likelihood come up during the pro forma hearing on Monday," she said.
People close to the family stated to police that the two fugitive suspects are likely on Isla Margarita, an island off the coast of Venezuela.
Al Jader, who lived in Schinveld, was riddled with thirty to forty bullets a day after his disappearance on August 5, 2011, according to a statement. The corpse was allegedly dissolved in a barrel of hydrochloric acid by Ron van K. of Dilsen, Belgium, a family friend. He went every day to watch and stir. After three weeks, he washed away Al Jader's liquid remains, cleaned the barrel with soda, and dumped it at a recycling company.
Iraqi asylum seeker Alan Gergeri was also murdered by the L. family, witnesses claim to police. Three members of the L. family and Ron van K. are in custody.
