MUIDENBERG - The Public Prosecutor's Office today demanded five years in prison and a fine of ten thousand euros against a 56-year-old man living in Muiderberg (registered in Naarden). He is suspected of large-scale possession of narcotics following the discovery of, among other things, nearly two thousand kilograms of ketamine in a shed near his home.
In response to intelligence received (a TCI notification), a raid was conducted on January 4 of this year at the suspect's home and associated premises in Muiderberg. The police found an unprecedented amount of ketamine in the shed, partly piled up in boxes in two large safes. It would later turn out that it was 1928 kilograms, a record find in the Netherlands. Ketamine is a narcotic that is also used as a recreational drug. Possession of non-prescribed ketamine is punishable under the Medicines Act. During the search, more than four kilograms of the synthetic drug 2 C-B, 11 grams of lsd and 500 grams of hemp were also found. The man was also prosecuted for possession of these. The suspect was arrested during the search.
