There will be a reconstruction of the murder of 23-year-old Hessam Lajeverdi. He was stabbed to death in Roermond in May 2011. Samir S. (32) was initially sentenced to thirteen years in prison, but the Supreme Court subsequently ruled that the trial court must retry the criminal case.
Serge Weening, attorney for Samir S., confirmed that a reconstruction will take place in the near future at the crime scene, a home on Roermond's Bachstraat. Lajeverdi was killed in front of his girlfriend's house on May 3, 2011, by S., who stabbed the Roermond man in the neck with a kitchen knife.
S., who has always denied that he killed his ex's new partner, was sentenced by the court to 12 years in prison for murder, after which the court of appeal in Den Bosch added another year during the appeal. The Supreme Court found that the court did not adequately substantiate that Samir S. killed his victim after calm deliberation and peaceful consultation.
A silent march was held for the murdered Hessam Lajeverdi in Roermond. When this case will be heard substantively is not known at this time.
