Man with serious chronic conditions is sentenced to prison for three years and seven months. He receives a call to report to prison, but reports sick and is unreachable. He believes he is detention unfit because of his illness and the lack of a device medically necessary for him. His attorney fails to get a request for an assessment of his detention fitness to the proper authority. After the man is finally detained at the JMC, the equipment and a special bed are not readily available, causing his condition to deteriorate and the execution to be interrupted. The National Ombudsman believes that the Justice Department should have arranged for the necessary equipment in a timely manner and not let the lawyer search for the right body to assess the detention fitness, but should have arranged it himself. - Mr. S.G.E.
