Psychologist during Thijs H. trial: high risk of recurrence (Limburger.nl)

The trial of triple murder suspect Thijs H. continues in the Maastricht District Court this Tuesday. The Brunssumer (28) is on trial for killing two people in Heerlen and one in The Hague.

Follow developments in the courtroom live via Claire van Dyck's Twitter feed at the bottom of this post.

On this second day, the Prosecutor's Office will continue questioning Thijs H. In addition, the experts from the Pieter Baan Center, who examined H., will speak. And there is time set aside for surviving relatives of the victims.

This second day will largely revolve around the question of whether Thijs H. was completely insane during the murders. The PBC experts believe he was and advise the judge to impose tbs with compulsory treatment. The prosecution has doubts about the insanity. The OM also wants to know to what extent Thijs H. possibly contributed to the psychosis himself by using drugs and medicines that were not prescribed. Thijs H. disputes that he took drugs that were not prescribed and says he always complied with the prescriptions. He said Monday he did not know how it could be that traces of drugs and medications had been found in his hair.

Should it become apparent at the end of the day that more time is needed, the hearing will continue Thursday.
