ROTTERDAM - The five boys between the ages of 19 and 22, who robbed a RET night bus in mid-September, were arrested this week. The perpetrators were apprehended after camera footage was shown on the TV Veilig program on TV Rijnmond. The boys boarded the night bus near the Middenbaan Noord in Hoogvliet early Thursday morning, September 18. There were no other passengers on the bus. Using an electric shock weapon, they gave the driver electric shocks to his neck.
In total, the five took 400 euros from the cash register and the driver's wallet. The bus stamp was also stolen. The robbery greatly affected the bus driver; he is still not at work.
After last week's TV Safe broadcast, which led to some tips, the boys turned themselves in at the police station Monday.
