MAASTRICHT - A police detective team, as it only now appears, arrested two Maastricht residents two weeks ago. The men, aged 27 and 32, are suspected of having seriously assaulted a 52-year-old man on July 28 on the Dousbergweg.The two suspects have made a confession. Both are charged with attempted murder. The 52-year-old victim was found in the early morning of Wednesday, July 28, by hikers. The man's arms were broken in several places.
He further suffered broken ribs, a ruptured spleen and his head was beaten and kicked black and blue. As a result of this severe assault, the man recently underwent surgery. On the evening before the assault, the victim had visited a friend. There he left drunk later in the evening.
