Zelhem - Police are searching with all their might for the two individuals who violently robbed a beorder shop on the Heijinkweg in Zelhem Wednesday night. "This case is absolutely priority number one," said police spokesman Anton de Ronde. "I cannot say exactly how many people we have put on the case, it is being worked hard." At 9:30 a.m., police received a report from the victim himself, who immediately saw an opportunity to raise the alarm after the anywhere. With several units and an ambulance, the police immediately arrived at the scene.'In the evening, the detectives conducted a neighborhood investigation and the technical reserche began a trace investigation. On Thursday around noon, the technical investigation was only finished. "The next step in the police investigation is an interrogation of the two victims. However, they are still in the hospital and not approachable," said the police spokesman.
The violent robbery shows striking similarities to the one anywhere on Haafseweg over a month ago. Then, too, masked men robbed a secluded home. Both robberies happened in the outlying area between Zelhem and Doetichem. Haafseweg is in the outlying area around Slangenburg and Heijinkweg is past De Kruisberg.
"We certainly do not rule out a connection in these two cases," De Ronde said.
Police are beside looking for people who saw suspicious persons on Heijink Road Wednesday evening around nine o'clock. Neighbors said they spotted a blue Volvo Station Wagon. Police would not confirm that. "We don't know that for sure. First we have to talk to the victims about that. It was still light around that time. Many people passed by there, they must have seen something. All information is welcome," said De Ronde. People who have information can contact police. "
