Police chase stolen car: 2 arrests (1Limburg.nl)
A police pursuit of a stolen car ended Monday afternoon around 4 p.m. on the A2 near Meerssen.
Police made two arrests. One man from the car was immediately apprehended, the other was initially able to escape. However, police were able to track him down a short time later. They are a 23-year-old man from Tiel and a 33-year-old man with no fixed place of residence.
Partially closed
At the end of the chase, between the airport and Meerssen, both the police car and the getaway car were damaged. On the highway heading south, one lane was closed. Traffic could pass slowly but it still led to several kilometers of traffic jam. Around 16:40 the lane was released again.
Pursuit
The stolen car was spotted on the A73 near Beesel. This is also where the pursuit began. At very high speed, the car drove south. On the A2 near Born, this caused a collision with a car, which then drove into another car. Despite the breakneck maneuvers, no one was injured.
