Pole confesses murder Helmond woman
HELMOND - A 26-year-old Polish man has made a confession about his role in the murder of his Helmond girlfriend (47). The woman was found dead in her home at Volderhof in Helmond on May 11 this year. The man is not coming to the Netherlands for the time being because he has yet to serve a heavy sentence in his home country.
Presumably, he will not be released until 2011. Only then can he be extradited for trial in the Netherlands.
Already in early June, the Pole was arrested by Polish police because he was still serving a sentence for a previous conviction. At the time, he was already suspected of involvement in the death of the Helmond woman. Justice and police have already tried to bring the Pole to the Netherlands. However, the prison sentence stood in the way of that. Therefore, in early December, a team of detectives traveled to Poland to interrogate the suspect. In the process, he made a confessional statement.
