Parkstad gang on trial again: who's who (1Limburg.nl)
Tuesday morning the trial against the so-called Park City gang continues. As many as fourteen suspects appear. But just who is who?
The prosecution (OM) suspects the 14 suspects of, among other things, receiving stolen goods, theft, prohibited possession of weapons and drugs, and in one case, attempted manslaughter. An overview:
Header Romano
Romano M. (21) is one of the leaders of the gang, which the prosecution earlier compared to the mafia, according to the justice department. The Heerlen native is one of four suspects in custody. After he and all the other alleged gang members were released earlier, he went wrong again, according to prosecutors. Romano is being prosecuted for fencing, attempted manslaughter and theft, among other charges.
Family Matters
By the way, Romano is not the only family member on the list of suspects. Father Pascal M. (44), mother Elizabeth C. (43) and girlfriend Naomi van E. (23) also appear in court on Tuesday. Pascal, like his son, is alleged to be one of the ringleaders and also guilty of prohibited possession of weapons, money laundering and receiving stolen goods. Mother is suspected of almost the same facts, while Naomi is on the roll for receiving stolen goods and "participation in a criminal organization.
Prison
Then there are the three other suspects following the trial from prison. Soufiane K. (21) from Amstenrade is currently detained in another case, while Brunssumer J. de H.* (24) allegedly violated the terms of his provisional release. The two are suspected of handling and possession of weapons, among other things. Kerkrade resident Yarmi Dortangs** (29) is currently being held for a violent home robbery in 2016. He too is alleged to have been a member of the Parkstad gang.
Young suspects
In addition, seven twenty-somethings will also appear in court. David W. (21) and J. P.* (20) from Brunssum, M. B.* (24) from Hoensbroek, Nigel W. (22) from Landgraaf and M. B.* (20), M. S.* (24) and Tom T. (24) from Heerlen will be arraigned. They are suspected of a variety of charges, from prohibited possession of firearms to theft and receiving stolen goods. They have one thing in common: Justice suspects they are all part of the Parkstad gang.
