Prosecutor demands four years in prison after fireworks attack Heerlen (1Limburg.nl)

The public prosecutor is demanding four years in prison against the Heerlen man who threw a heavy fireworks bomb on the balcony of a Heerlen apartment in December 2016.

Of those four years, as far as justice is concerned, one year is on probation.

Revenge

The 26-year-old Danny van de B. committed the attack out of revenge. For years he lived at odds with his then downstairs neighbors in a flat on Abeelstraat. He confessed in court, although he said he did not know if the residents of the apartment were home at the time.

Wounded

The explosion injured the residents. Their home was also severely damaged. The attack occurred shortly after Van de B. was forced to move. The reason for the new home was the ongoing neighborly dispute.

Moped

Fellow suspect Patrick P. also heard a demand for four years in prison, one of which was suspended. He drove Van de B. with his moped to the apartment on Abeel Street on the evening of December 18, 2016.
