Prosecutor demands prison sentences of up to 20 years against terror suspects (1limburg.nl)

Justice is demanding prison terms of up to 20 years against the Arnhem-based terror group, which is suspected of preparing an attack on a festival in the Netherlands and leading a terrorist organization.

The six suspects were arrested in September 2018 at a vacation park in Weert.

Rotterdam
The public prosecutor formulated the sentences Friday at the conclusion of a 5.5-hour indictment in the extra-security court in Rotterdam. "The Netherlands has not been this close to an attack of this magnitude before. The suspects deserve an appropriate and deterrent punishment," the prosecutor said.

Highest penalty
Suspect Wail el A. was handed the highest sentence of 20 years. This is because he is also suspected of attempted murder. He pointed a (deactivated) weapon at the police during the arrest in September 2018 at a vacation park in Weert. Main suspect Hardi N. was sentenced to 18 years.

The six suspects, ranging in ages from 22 to 36, are suspected of preparing an attack and forming a terrorist organization.
