In a terrorism investigation, the National Public Prosecutor's Office (Landelijk Parket van het Openbaar Ministerie (OM)) today demanded in the Rotterdam District Court 9 years of unconditional imprisonment and a Behavioral Influencing and Freedom Restricting Measure (GVM) against a 22-year-old and a 36-year-old man from Zoetermeer. The prosecution suspects the two of them of having carried out preparatory acts for a jihadist-motivated attack aimed at the Netherlands. This would be committed for and claimed by Islamic State (IS) and with the use of explosives.
