New light on rap murder

GRONINGEN - A police criminal informant is to be heard by order of the Groningen District Court about the events surrounding the murder of Amsterdam rapper Rel. The informant could shed new light on the events in favor of 27-year-old suspect Jason B.The court's decision to hear the informant is exceptional. The anonymity of criminal informants is guaranteed. The prosecution therefore strongly opposed the lawyer's request to be allowed to question the informant. The court ultimately allowed the interests of the defense to prevail. Justice must now take measures so that the informant's identity does not become public.
