MAASTRICHT, Members of the notorious Moluccan motorcycle club Satudarah engage in large-scale production and export of hard drugs such as ecstasy in our country.
According to the Justice Department and the National Criminal Investigation Department, they obtained the necessary raw materials through a group of Lithuanians from Weert. This appears from a confidential investigation file of the national criminal investigation department, which De Telegraaf had access to. "A lab technician produces very good quality drugs for Satudarah."
Secret informant
"The man, one B.E., is a full member at Satudarah," said a covert informant from the Criminal Intelligence Unit. The tip contained even more detailed information and set off all the alarm bells at the National Criminal Investigation Department.
After consultation with the prosecution, the police began a secret investigation in the second half of 2010. The team was given a clear assignment: investigate whether and, if so, how many Satudarah members were involved in trafficking hard drugs such as ecstasy and other synthetic drugs. The investigation was given a telling name: Akutan, one of the most active volcanoes in the world. The criminal investigation team quickly caught on and captured several members of Satudarah who were fully engaged in large-scale drug trafficking, according to the confidential investigation file.
A total of at least nine people have been named as suspects, including the leader of the Satudarah chapter in Maastricht and three members from Tilburg.
Satudarah has been in constant disrepute lately. The club is in a power struggle with the Hells Angels and is under a magnifying glass with the police and judiciary. In October, three members from Breda were arrested for allegedly extorting hotel and catering bosses. Last week it was announced that Satudarah leader Etous Belserang escaped an assassination attempt in Amsterdam.
Recherce stumbles upon extensive drug shanel
Satudarah members are stopped on the A2 near Amsterdam. The police thus prevented a meeting with the Hells Angels at a Harley day on Waterlooplein last September.
