A 25-year-old military man suspected of defrauding 30 people will remain in prison until the substantive hearing of his case at the end of January. A request by his lawyer Van Merm to provisionally release him foundered Monday at the military plural chamber of the court in Arnhem.

For over two years, from May 5, 2021 to August 18, 2023, the man allegedly defrauded about 30 people through crypto currency trading. Some 3 tons were allegedly involved. The victims included fellow soldiers and people in the Arnhem area, where he lived.
