ZALTBOMMEL - A 47-year-old man from Zaltbommel was mortally wounded Sunday evening in a shooting in front of his home on the Kantelen in Zaltbommel. The perpetrator, who was a fugitive last night, is also believed to be from Zaltbommel, but the police will not confirm this. According to a police spokesman, it is a targeted attack and the perpetrator is known. "Around ten o'clock the man drove up and fired from the car. The victim was standing outside," said spokeswoman Moniek Voet. The two people standing behind the victim were not injured. There are many witnesses, according to Voet. "We are conducting trace investigations and talking to local residents. That will definitely be followed up as well." According to local residents, the street has been unsettled all week.
