A 43-year-old man was sentenced to eight years in prison by the East Brabant District Court. He twice threw hot frying oil over his girlfriend. The suspect was frying French fries at his home in Helmond in February 2024, when his partner came home during her break from work to have lunch together. After the woman sat down on her chair at the dining table, the suspect walked up to her and poured the pan of hot frying oil over her. When the victim stood up, the suspect punched her in the face and once again poured oil over her. According to the suspect, it was an accident and he did not intentionally pour the hot oil over his partner.
