MAASTRICHT - One of the two main suspects in the murder of Ger Douven ui Schinveld, his ex-girlfriend Rhonda K. (27), is said to have threatened fellow suspect Tiny H. in the women's prison in Evertsoord.TIny H's counsel S. Weening did not want to say anything about the nature of the threat, other than that it was taken so seriously that K. has since been transferred to another house of detention. "K. considers me a traitor," H. said sobbing in court in Maastricht yesterday. "But I couldn't keep quiet anymore." H. was the first to testify in the case, which became known as the "trunk murder. The charred body of Ger Douven was found March 12, 2003, in Puth-Schinnen in the trunk of a burned-out car. He appeared to have been shot to death during a furlough from prison.
Rhonda K. and Tiny H., once sworn friends, sat together in court yesterday. They heard prosecutor P. Bruinen argue that Rhonda K. is "the evil genius who got the case rolling with her request to Tiny H. to find a hitman to kill the father of her two children." Bruinen demanded 15 years in prison against K. for co-conspiracy to murder. Tiny H. heard seven years against her for inciting murder, which, according to her lawyer Weening, absolutely cannot be proven. But the prosecution argues that she "provoked" her son Roy H, who in turn called in professional soldier Harold R.. R. has confessed to firing the shots. Rhonda K. paid 13,5000 euros for them. R. was charged with eighteen years in prison plus tbs with compulsory nursing. Cell sentences were also demanded against Roy H. and the men's girlfriends.
