Long prison sentences in Landgraaf murder case Bobo Jalloh (1limburg.nl)
- Frank Moonen
In the Landgraaf murder case Bobo Jalloh, the court handed down years-long prison sentences. Dave G. received 21.5 years in prison, Hub M. 17.5 years and the victim's wife, Hadiyatou D. must serve 19.5 years in prison. A fourth suspect is an accomplice and received 3 years in prison.
Assassination Plan
According to the court, it was proven that the suspects acted with premeditation. Bobo's wife would sell her house and the profits would be divided by the three men. Everything was planned in advance. Weapons were taken and the murder was supposed to look like a robbery. Cameras in the neighborhood were also checked. On the night in question in 2017, Bobo's wife gave the green light by phone at the time the men could enter. Moments before, she had already opened the door. Examination of phone records confirmed that, according to the court. After Bobo was seriously injured after being stabbed at knifepoint, she let the two men back out through the back door.
Guilty
Which of the two men inflicted the fatal stabbings the court cannot determine. The suspects point to each other, and the forensic examination also offers no solution. "It is established that the three suspects were present when their intended purpose was achieved," the judges said. All three are therefore guilty of murder. "Bobo's wife initiated the murder plan, making her an accessory to murder as well. She fooled the police and played the victim for months," the court said.
Stung
Bobo Jalloh was put to death by stabbing in his home on the Koempel in Landgraaf on May 31, 2017. He was stabbed eight times in his chest. The woman allegedly plotted the murder because her husband was abusing her and the children. She talked about it with two men she knew through a phone store and from that a plan was eventually forged to kill.
DNA match
Police initially could not solve the case because there were few traces and leads. Months after the investigation was halted, a dna match via a tiewrap finally broke the case.
"If that one trace had not been found, this case would never have been solved," suspects the prosecution, which speaks of an almost perfect murder. In doing so, the prosecution was fortunate that the dna of one of the suspects was already in the dna database due to a previous aggravated assault. After one of the suspects immediately started talking, he was not even at the police station yet, the case gained momentum and the victim's wife, among others, could also be arrested.
Damages
The three defendants must pay Bobo's two daughters damages of 20,000 euros each. All parties have 14 days to appeal. The prosecutor's office (OM) expressed satisfaction with the verdict, which was largely in line with the penalty demands.
