HEERLEN/KERKRADE - With the arrest of seven suspects in Heerlen and Kerkrade, police broke up an international drug gang Wednesday morning. The organization is held responsible for the production and trafficking of synthetic drugs such as amphetamine and ecstasy.
The drugs went to buyers in Germany and Spain. During searches of six premises, agents found about 30 kilograms of amphetamine, 6,000 ecstasy pills, firearms and money. In addition, three vehicles were seized. The suspects are 19 to 64 years old and from Heerlen and Kerkrade. Police are not ruling out further arrests.
