MAASTRICHT - Four of the seven suspects in the Loontjens case were convicted yesterday by the Maastricht court of co-perpetrating the manslaughter of the 47-year-old Gelener. The three others were acquitted for lack of evidence.Stephan P. (32), who according to the court played a leading role in the explosion of violence, and Gennaro S. (33), who was the "initiator," were each given back-to-back years in prison; Rick D. (22) and Barry H. (27) six each. Barry H. had free advice for court president Krol: "Go find other work, boy, you're a tinker."
The prosecution expressed satisfaction with the verdicts. Gennaro S. through dvocate Francoise Landerloo immediately announced an appeal, as did Arthur Vonken on behalf of Barry H. Counsel Peer Szymkowiak of Stephan P. wants to study the verdict first.
