Four men who threw firebombs against a mosque in Enschede two years ago have received a reduced sentence on appeal. According to the court, although their act was terrorism, it did not put people in mortal danger.
The foursome was sentenced at first instance to four years in prison, one of which was suspended. On appeal, two suspects have now been given three years in prison, ten months of which are on probation. The other two were handed a sentence of 2.5 years, of which six months was suspended.
