Eindhoven residents arrested for human trafficking
Three men aged between 20 and 25 from Eindhoven were arrested Tuesday morning for involvement in human trafficking. One of the three, a 22-year-old man, was arrested at the Vught prison. During searches, officers found a firearm.
In the same investigation, a 27-year-old man from Eindhoven was arrested in Rotterdam prison in early May. He was already convicted of human trafficking four years ago. In 2010, he did not return to prison after a weekend furlough and managed to stay out of the hands of the police for a year.
Police tracked down the suspects through reports made against the 27-year-old. He forced five women aged between 18 and 22 into prostitution during the year he was on the run. He and the three other suspects took their earned money, police suspect. The four men are in custody pending further investigation.
