Duo arrested after shooting incidents (Omroep Gelderland)
NIJMEGEN - Police are investigating several shooting incidents Saturday night in Nijmegen. A 41-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman have been arrested. They are associated with the death of a 68-year-old woman and the wounding of a 47-year-old man. The dead woman was found in a residence on the Cronjestraat during the night from Saturday to Sunday. It is not yet clear how she was killed, but according to police, local residents reportedly heard gunshots.
Four hours later, shots were fired at a café in the Malvert neighborhood. No one was injured. Shortly thereafter, at a flat in the Tolhuis neighborhood, the 47-year-old man was shot. The police do not rule out a connection between the incidents. The relationship between both victims and the suspects is being further investigated.
