Claim: sixteen years in prison for Maastricht flat murder suspect (1Limburg.nl)

If it were up to the Public Prosecutor's Office, Moussa O. would go to prison for 16 years. He is the suspect in the case surrounding the Maastricht apartment murder in which Jack Koker was killed last May.

That is what O. heard against him in court on Monday.

Alarm

Koker was found dead in the ANWB flat on Koningsplein on May 30 last year, after local residents raised the alarm that he had been missing for several days.Moussa O. finally confessed to the murder in a letter to his girlfriend.

Unclear

For a long time it was unclear exactly what had taken place in the ANWB flat. In addition to Koker, who lived there, a man from Maastricht and a boy and girl of Greek-Turkish origin were also present in the apartment. Soon the investigation focused on the foreign duo.

Cocaine

The pair were with Koker to use cocaine, police interrogations revealed. When it came time to pay for the drugs, things went wrong. There was no money in Moussa O.'s account, so the Maastricht man went outside with the girl's debit card. When he returned, Koker had been stabbed to death.

Storm

According to the prosecutor, O. was not in Koker's apartment to use drugs, but only to steal. Moussa O. said he did not stab Koker, but that there was emergency defense. According to Moussa O., it was Koker who first pulled a knife. O. then allegedly took it away.

Bruce Lee

According to the prosecution, O. should have suffered at least a scratch in such a struggle. However, he got away unscathed. "He is obviously not Bruce Lee," the prosecutor said. Koker appeared to have been stabbed in his back.According to the prosecutor, in a situation that Moussa O. outlines, the victim should have been stabbed precisely in his abdomen.

According to the prosecutor, O. stabbed Jack Koker so that he would not have to pay for the cocaine.

Horror scenario

The prosecutor goes on to speak of a "horror scenario" for Koker's family. "His son must now miss a father and all for two grams of cocaine," the prosecutor said.
