Pin cards skimmed at Albert Heijn in Breda

Breda - At an Albert Heijn in Breda-Noord, unknown persons copied a number of debit cards this weekend. How many people are victims of the so-called skimming is still unclear. However, the various banks did block hundreds of cards preventively after the discovery.Last Saturday police caught a 36-year-old Romanian between the system ceiling of the supermarket in shopping center Heksenwinkel. He had probably installed the devices by then. People who see their money disappearing abroad will get the amount back from their bank.

Skimming involves copying data from bank cards and then using it to make illegal withdrawals. It usually happens abroad.

Police expect more reports. On Wednesday, new victims reported to the police. Money had been taken from their accounts in Romania and Thailand, among other places. The victims say they have not been there.
