DEN HAAG/SPRANG-CAPELLE - The mayor of Waalwijk wrongfully tried to close a home in Sprang-Capelle where 41 grams of hemp were found. This was decided by the Council of State on Wednesday. According to the highest administrative court, the occupant made it plausible that the hemp was intended for medicinal use.
The Zeeland-West Brabant District Court had previously ruled the same but the mayor of Waalwijk appealed to the Council of State. Medicinal use had not been proven partly because the hemp had not been prescribed by the man's general practitioner. In 2017, 900 grams had already been found in the home.
