Community service and disqualification from driving for causing accident with grievous bodily harm (Rechtspraak.nl)

The defendant, as the driver of his car, struck a pedestrian, causing serious bodily injuries to the victim. The defendant failed to yield the right of way to her at a crosswalk, drove the vehicle with too much alcohol on it, and drove at a higher speed than the maximum permitted at the scene, while he was familiar with the traffic situation and visibility was poor due to rain. Article 6 of the Road Traffic Act. Community service for a term of 180 hours. Conditional disqualification from driving motor vehicles for the duration of 12 months.
