A 51-year-old man from Roermond heard a 21-month prison sentence, including eight suspended, against him in court on Monday. In late 2017, he had sex with a then 12-year-old girl.

The 51-year-old B.A. from Roermond housed two Hungarian men and two underage girls in his garage business in late 2017. After several tips to the police that the girls would be forced into prostitution, the Roermond man and the two Hungarians were arrested in December 2017, including on suspicion of human trafficking. Eventually, A. and a 54-year-old Hungarian man remained as suspects.
