BORN/MAASTRICHT - The Public Prosecutor's Office (OM) yesterday demanded one year in prison, six months of which were conditional with a probationary period of two years, against landlord Hub D. from Guttecoven in the court in Maastricht. Prosecutor Anneke Rogier deemed the three assaults "legally and convincingly proven. ''As an employer, the defendant had a preponderance over the employees and there was a considerable age difference. He often created a threatening situation, because the victims could not get away from the basement. They were forced by Mr. D. to do things," said Rogier, who was disturbed by the pub owner's silence during the hearing. Erik Maessen, D.'s lawyer, asked the court to acquit his client in its entirety. Verdict in two weeks.
