Sjanneke de Crom did part of her legal studies in London and graduated with an 8 in criminal justice from Maastricht University. During her Master's degree in Criminal Law, she worked as a support researcher in the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology.
Ms. de Crom has been with Weening Strafrechtadvocaten since 2013 and in 2017 was voted the up-and-coming criminal law talent of Limburg by 'The Best Lawyer in the Netherlands'.
In addition to all community criminal cases, Ms. De Crom also specializes in article 13b Opium Act objection procedures. These are proceedings against the municipality when the mayor uses the power to close homes or premises when narcotics are found. De Crom has successfully litigated in several cases up to the highest court, the Administrative Law Division of the Council of State.
Sjanneke de Crom also fights for the interests and rights of life prisoners in the Netherlands. In that capacity, she is a member of the Forum Levenslang.
