A car drove into a furniture store on the Heerlen Furniture Boulevard during the night from Friday to Saturday.
The driver of the car had become unwell after using alcohol and drugs, police reported. The facade of the business on In de Cramer and part of the inventory were severely damaged by the drunken act. The driver was arrested.
Reopening
Right on Saturday, the store was supposed to reopen after an extensive renovation that took three weeks. That reopening is now postponed to Tuesday. The owner does say that customers will be served as usual on Saturday even during the cleanup work.
