Arrest in cell for murder in Oss (Telegraaf.nl)
OSS - The 30-year-old Brabander S. Y. has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the murder of 48-year-old Marja Nijholt from Enschede.
This is confirmed by his lawyer Serge Weening to De Telegraaf. The woman was found dead in a garden in Oss on New Year's Day last year. She appeared to have been stabbed to death.
With the arrest yesterday of Y., who was taken from his cell in the Heerhugowaard prison where he was already detained for another case, the investigators have almost certainly achieved a breakthrough in the murder investigation that has been deadlocked for a year and a half. The Brabander is invoking his right to remain silent. It is still unclear whether S. Y. was an acquaintance of Marja Nijholt. He will be arraigned Friday before the examining magistrate.
The chief public prosecutor in Den Bosch earlier offered a reward of 15,000 euros for the golden tip that would lead to the perpetrator or perpetrators.
