AMERSFOORT/LEUSDEN - An incorrigible chatterbox scammer from Amersfoort is hanging 7 months in prison. The public prosecutor today demanded 14 months imprisonment, of which 8 were suspended. Another month should be added to an earlier suspended sentence. In addition, the prosecutor wants the man, who has confessed to everything, to seek treatment.
The 42-year-old Amersfoort man had to answer in court today for 11 cases of scams committed between October and January in Amersfoort and Leusden. In many cases he pretended to be the son of an acquaintance or a new neighbor and managed to easily win their trust through his gentle and friendly appearance. One of the victims even gave him a bank card.
