Eight months for former doorman disco

MAASTRICHT - The court in Maastricht sentenced former doorman GiuseppeK.(32) of the Peppermill in Heerlen to eight months in prison. The demand two weeks ago was four years, one of which was suspended with a probation period of two years. K. assaulted a disco visitor on the night of May 2 to 3. He was then notified about an argument in the disco. After some of the troublemakers were evicted from the establishment by K., one of them reported back with a bloodied face because the argument outside had flared up again. The doorman - "I felt screwed"- then went after the alleged perpetrators. K. gave one of them, the later victim, two hefty blows to the face. According to witnesses, the doorman, who is no longer allowed to practice his job at the Peppermill and as a security guard at Schiphol Airport, kicked the boy several more times. The court ultimately acquitted K. of attempted manslaughter.
