The Public Prosecutor's Office is demanding five months in prison against two Limburg school board members. The former chairman and treasurer have "personally enriched themselves," the prosecution stated yesterday in court in Maastricht. Marcel L, former principal of El Wahda elementary school, faces a two hundred hour community service sentence. He played a smaller role, according to the prosecutor.
The three allegedly pocketed some 250,000 euros through forgery. They appointed their wives as staff while they did not work at the school. Moreover, Abdel K. and Hossein C., chairman and treasurer of the Foundation Islamic School Heerlen, put themselves on the payroll as teachers.
