In an accident on Ovidiusstraat in Heerlen, a 32-year-old cyclist was struck by a motorist Friday morning around a quarter past eight.
The man was seriously injured in the process. He was taken to the hospital with his injuries. The driver of the car was violently upset by the accident. Police are now talking to this person. According to a police spokesman, the low sun may have played a role in the accident.
The street was blocked off for much of the morning for police investigation.
