The judges in the Sven Prins liquidation trial will not be replaced.
The court's challenge chamber decided so after lawyers for the three defendants asked that the sitting judges be removed.
False tip
The lawyers filed the challenge Monday afternoon, during the first day of the substantive hearing. They did so after a request to investigate a false tip was denied.
Lawyer Luc Bien of suspect Sergio K. wanted more investigation to be done on the tip from a Belgian woman. She called justice and pointed out three perpetrators, but later retracted the tip.
Do not sit
The judges did not see a new investigation as the woman only gave three names of possible suspects.
Sven Prins was liquidated on the street in Brunssum two years ago after a chase. Three suspects are now on trial for involvement in the fatal shooting. It allegedly took place in the drug environment.
